Topic: Easy Changes for Lasting Impact: Strategic Ways to Lead an Organizational Cultural Revolution

Presented By: Kristin Ransford Hiemstra, M.Ed, PCC, ELI-MP, Founder of AlightSuccess, Professional Coach and Consultant, NCSU MBA Instructor, Serial Show Host

Summary: The Great Resignation combined with hiring challenges have left employers scratching their heads in attempts to attract and retain culturally compatible and competent employees. With generational wish lists driving the hiring decisions, ensuring the organization has a great culture is paramount. Leading cultural change involves a few simple tweaks that can be implemented immediately and will have lasting positive effects.

Learning objectives:

  • To understand what creates and drives organizational culture and how to tweak it
  • To understand how to lead systemic change throughout the organization
  • To obtain practical strategies that can be immediately applied within your organization

Before Kristin founded AlightSuccess Coaching and Consulting, she was the business manager for a DC communications firm, on the leadership team for one of the world’s largest non-profit associations for investment advisors, and a school counselor. Being part of so many different types of organizations in addition to having a degree in cultural anthropology gives her an expert eye on how organizational cultures are formed and how they can be strategically changed to provide a better work experience for all involved while improving the bottom line. In addition to running AlightSuccess, she teaches MBA students The Art of Creating Organizational Culture as well as Emotional Intelligence at NCSU’s Poole School of Management.

Education: BA in Cultural Anthropology from UNC, a Masters in Counseling and Human Development from GMU and a Certificate in Human Resources from Duke University, Professional Certified Coach (PCC) Credential from the International Coaching Federation.
